Mariana Martins Pereira has focused her legal practice on the areas of International Law, EU law and the European Convention on Human Rights.
Mariana was a trainee at the European Court of Human Rights, where she collaborated in the drafting of judgments related to the right to a fair trial, the right to respect for private and family life and freedom of expression. Mariana also did a traineeship at the Court of Justice of the European Union, where she participated in the drafting of judgments in various fields, from State aid, to banking union and banking resolution, or constitutional aspects of EU law.
In the context of legal practice, Mariana has intervened in merger control and antitrust procedures before the Portuguese Competition Authority, in compliance actions and legal advice in the sectors of food retail and telecommunications and in proceedings before the Court of Justice and the General Court of the European Union.
